Myasthenia Gravis Xplained

Through storytelling

Meet Jayde

Hi, I’m Jayde!

I’ve got Myasthenia Gravis also known as MG. MG has affected me and a lot of the things that I can do but it also hasn’t stopped me from being able to do the things I love. Check out my video to find out more about my journey with MG.

Medicine X Story

Working as a medical doctor, Medicine X founder, Kim Chilman-Blair realised that far too many people are confused about their diagnoses, their conditions, and their treatments. The language that doctors use, and what everyday people understand can be two totally different things.

Here at Medicine X, we believe that everyone should feel informed and empowered so they can engage with their doctors and be involved in making medical decisions. That’s why Medicine X isn’t just another boring and complicated fact sheet – we explain medical issues through stories based on real people. It’s relatable, simple, and gives you the information you need.

We hope this helps you on your journey!

About MG Xplained

Real People

The MG XPLAINED story is based on a real person – Jayde! It reflects her story, her experiences and her advice to others. There have also been lots of people who contributed along the way with their stories and advice. Thanks to everyone who helped create MG Xplained!

Our Team

The MEDICINE X team are doctors, artists, and creative writers that all work to make sure of one thing – the information is easy to understand. No more medical jargon! Everything is correct and up-to-date!

Each of the stories we create is different, so there are experts in the field of MG that have reviewed the story to ensure it is spot on in terms of medical information.

Australian Myasthenic Association in NSW Inc

The Australian Myasthenic Association was formed in 1982 to provide patient support for myasthenia sufferers and their friends and families. If you have just been diagnosed or you have lived with the condition for a while, it's nice to know you are not alone. The association allows members to communicate with people having similar experiences through a Facebook page, and attend calendar events. Please visit the website for more details.

Myasthenia Alliance Australia

The Alliance provides a strong and unified voice for Myasthenia sufferers on issues with a national relevance. This is done by creating awareness, advocating federally and fostering research projects. By generating more awareness of, and further interest in, these conditions. Through contact with Federal organisations, departments and individuals and by providing a point of contact for Australians from every state and territory, the Alliance provides a targeted forum for items of national importance. The Alliance will enhance the work done by the State Associations.

Myasthenia Gravis Association of Queensland Inc

The Myasthenia Gravis Association of Queensland Inc provides a range of information to individuals, families and relevant medical personnel and institutions in order to enable them to recognise and understand more about MG. The association leads and facilitates further research associated with MG whilst continuing to be recognised by Health Queensland as a peak support body.
